Gratitude is Good

We all know how rewarding and heart-warming it can be to give thanks, but recent studies show that gratitude is good for us on many levels: “Cultivating an ‘attitude of gratitude’ has been linked to better health, sounder sleep, less anxiety and depression, higher long-term satisfaction with life and kinder behavior toward others,” writes John Tierney in this recent New York Times article.

This Thanksgiving, go ahead and reflect on the goodness and freedoms in your life and give generous thanks to those near and dear.  It’s good for you (and for everyone around you)!

    Great points! I recently read of someone who journals every day and makes sure to include 3 things she is thankful for. She said, even in the darkest of times, it was “easy” and reaffirming to come up with 3.
